With more than three decades’ experience in the automotive, financial services, finance and taxation industries, TORQ Consulting Services was created to connect the links amongst industries that are often too specialised to bridge the gaps.

As many traditional Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) automotive companies transition to becoming completely digitalised and selling directly to the customer, one of the biggest challenges is being able to maintain or increase new car retail sales volumes whilst improving margins and in the longer term, used car resale values.

Using its experience and insights obtained from direct sales’ strategy formulation and implementation, also known as “agency” in some markets, TORQ Consulting Services, through its associates, has been able to show that linking the automotive and financial services sales journey is key to a successful transition.

The move to OEM direct sales is global

Many new automotive entrants to the global market immediately implement a direct sales strategy.

Traditional OEMs are often unable to make the transition due to legal restraints. Some German OEMs have already tested the water predominantly in South Africa and have now started the roll out in the Northern hemisphere.

TORQ Consulting Services has had extensive experience in assisting OEMs to convert to the agency model in South Africa, the incubation hub for many OEMs for agency. Using this experience, TORQ Consulting Services is currently, and has been, engaged with clients in Europe, USA and Australia.
